Meow!

Kyra went to a Halloween party at Daddy's school today, and she got to wear her kitty cat costume for the first time. We arrived at Santa Monica High School right around Kyra's usual afternoon nap time, and she was definitely a tired girl! After visiting a few classrooms and staff at the school, she was pretty wiped out. As you can see, she fell asleep on her Daddy's shoulder! Such a little sweetheart! Once she woke up, she had a lot of fun looking around at all the students who were dressed up for the after-school Halloween party. She even danced a little to Oingo Boingo's "Dead Man's Party."

Kyra's been wearing Halloween-themed clothing throughout the month of October, and it was so much fun to finally put her first ever Halloween costume on today! She'll be wearing it again for a costume contest at our local mall tomorrow, and then again for Halloween trick-or-treating later this weekend. I think it's safe to assume that we'll get a few more photos of Kyra in her kitty cat costume!

1st Trip To The Pumpkin Patch!

Last Sunday, we took Kyra to the pumpkin patch in Irvine for the very first time. She loved it! She was so interested in looking at everything, and was in good spirits even though we made her take about a zillion photos (thank you, Grandpa, for taking so many cute pictures!)! She dressed up for the trip, and even got to try out one of her personalized "K" pumpkin barrettes on her headband. Luckily she actually kept her headband on the entire time, which is pretty rare these days - she's been yanking off anything I try to put on her head lately! Her outfit wouldn't have been complete without her Jack-O-Lantern Babylegs! We didn't pick out a pumpkin this time, since Kyra's already got a pumpkin from her friend Jake's Birthday Pumpkin Patch. Next year, however, Kyra might want to pick out her very own pumpkin!

Time is flying by and we're getting excited for the beginning of the holiday season! With Kyra's 1st Birthday coming up in February, I wouldn't be surprised if our holiday season stretches all the way through Valentine's Day from now on. Fine by me!

8-Month Stats!

Kyra had her 8-month check-up on Monday, and here are her current stats:

Weight: 19 pounds, 4 ounces

Height: 27 1/2 inches (she was pretty squirmy when the nurse was taking her measurement, so this might not be 100% accurate - she might be a little taller?)

Head Circumference: 43 1/2 cm

1st Time In A Swing!

Kyra and I went for a walk in Irvine last weekend, and we ended up at my childhood park at the end of the block that I grew up on. We decided to try out the swings for the very first time, and Kyra loved it! I only had my cell phone with me, but I managed to catch some fairly decent photos and even a cute little video. The swing set and play equipment that are in the park now were put in, if I remember correctly, when I was around Junior High School-age. The park that I used to play at when I was a little girl was a bit different, less safe...I'll have to see if I can find some photos of me playing in the park. It's so fun to think that I can take Kyra to some of the same places I loved when I was little.
